Queer Spaces Under Attack: Stories and Strategies for Safety

Sunday, February 19, 2023

3:15-5:15 PM

Hilton Parc 55 – Embarcadero (Level 3)

The hate we face is real, and right-wing anti-LGBTQ groups are continuing to organize their campaign of terror attacks against our spaces. Now is the time to name and claim the tools to fight back and define how we can all play a part in building a safer future for our communities and spaces. Join AVP after the plenary to continue the discussion on violence threatening our communities.  We will examine in-depth how organizations nationwide have been affected by hate violence and how we can unite to create a safer future for us all.

In this 2-hour workshop event for Creating Change conference attendees, we’ll dive into the results of the LGBTQ Safe Spaces National Needs Assessment survey and discuss and share ground-level experiences with anti-LGBTQ violence. We’ll identify and plan the next steps for the work ahead to make our communities safer. Event is open to all but pre-registration is encouraged.

Register here for the event.
